Dear Friends,

The Parish Day & Catechism Anniversary will be held on Saturday, 25th November in the parish hall starting with Holy Qurbana at 9.00am. Inviting everyone to join the Parish Day to celebrate the communion as a family and to enjoy the talents of children and adults on stage. The catechism merit & attendance prizes for this year and Year 12 completion certificates for 2022 will be awarded on the day. If anyone fits into the below, please let me know as soon as possible.

The Bible Quiz and the cultural programs will be from the five zones of the parish as below. There will also be programs by catechism students and pious associations in the parish. 

Zones in the Parish:
 

1. Orange Grove North - Maddington, Cannington, East Cannington, Wilson, Wattlegrove, Redcliff
    
2. Orange Grove South - Canningvale North, Canningvale South, Piarawaters, Aspiri, Harrisdale North, Harrisdale South, Armadale, Atwell, Success
3. Willetton - Willetton North, Willetton South, Willetton East, Riverton, Bullcreeck
4. Embleton - Nollamara, Westminster, Morley, Joondana, Midland
5. Joondalup - Joondalup

CULTURAL PROGRAMS

Each zone will get 15-20 minutes for cultural programs. Suggested programs are: 

1. Skit - Biblical/Spiritual/social message and general theme. 
2. Group song - Devotional songs

3. Group Dance - Religious/Biblical themes
 

Please submit the list of programs from your zone before 15th November through the kaikarans. The parish trustees & parish day committee members will contact the family unit leaders to organise the cultural programs from each zone. 

BIBLE QUIZ
 

Two teams of three members from each zone can participate in the Bible Quiz competition. Bible quiz is for youths (after Yr 12) and adults (not for kids). The Quiz will be in Malayalam. The Bible to refer is the POC Malayalam Bible. Participants for this event must report to the event coordinator 15 minutes before commencement.  

Topics for quiz:  

• Luke chapters 13-24 
• Judges 1-12
• Galatians 1-6
• Questions will also be asked from the introduction of each of these books
   

FELICITATIONS (if anyone fits into these categories, please let me know)  
 

• 25th Wedding Anniversary (celebrating in 2023)
• Newly wedded couples (within 1 year of marriage)
• Grandparents visiting
• Big families (4 or more kids; not acknowledged in previous years)
• ATAR : Catechism Students from the class of 2022 who have achieved an ATAR of 90 and above are requested to send through their ATAR rank certificate to receive a compliment from parish. These are to be submitted by 15th November to the parish email (office.perth@syromalabar.org.au) with your full name, contact number and ATAR score. The highest scorer will be awarded a scholarship.
• Year 12, 2022- Catechism completion certificate and awards (from the diocese)
• Prizes for Catechism (merit & attendance 2023) will be distributed.

NB: Dinner will be for sale as a church fundraiser. There will also be snack sales by Mathruvedi & SMYM. 

A gentle request to park your cars inside church property (strictly not allowed to park on the roadside) and follow the instructions from the volunteers!
